Mental Health First Aid for Older Adults is an evidence-based, one-day certification training that teaches participants how to recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance-use challenges among adults aged 65 and older. Participants learn practical skills using the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE) to provide initial support and connect older adults to appropriate professional care and community resources.
Training is FREE to all participants and includes a complimentary light breakfast, lunch, FREE T-shirt, FREE books, and additional learning resources. This program is made possible through the ARISE Grant from the California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA). Participants who are nurses may receive 7.5 contact hours upon completion of the training.
